Rose Lavelle, USWNT Matchfielder of the Year

Lavelle, a star of the game with a lot of talent, has a unique vision for the ball. She made her international senior debut in 2017 when she won the player's of the match award against England. She is a rare example of vision combined with speed and creativity when it comes to the ball. Her style of play is very different from that of many USWNT members. This requires artistic license.

Lavelle is a Cincinnati-born midfielder

Rose Lavelle is a Cincinnati-based soccer player. She started playing soccer as a child in the YMCA youth coed leagues. She didn't celebrate or smile when she scored her first goal. Instead, she kept her cool and continued playing. She played for several local soccer teams, including Cincinnati United Premier Soccer Club. She also played college soccer at the University of Wisconsin.

Lavelle grew to be a Cincinnatian and attended Mount Notre Dame High School. Later she received a scholarship from the University of Wisconsin. Today, she plays in the NWSL with the Washington Spirit. Neil Bradford, a Cincinnati Soccer trainer helped Lavelle discover her passion for soccer.

Lavelle was a member of the United States' women's national soccer team at the youth and senior level. She was named the Big Ten's top midfielder in November 2015. NSCAA awarded her the first-team all American honor. Lavelle also played in the USL W-League 2014 for the Dayton Dutch Lions, as well as the Seattle Sounders Womens in W-League 2015. After graduating from college, Lavelle joined the Washington Spirit. For the 2016 Women's Premier Soccer League season, she returned to Dayton.


She played for Wisconsin

Rose Lavelle, a Big Ten midfielder of year, won the award in December 2015. She was also selected to U.S. Women's National Team. Unfortunately, she didn't make the roster for game day. She began to get frustrated. She felt that she wasn't making the right progress, and that she wasn’t in the best condition to take on the challenges of playing for the national teams. But she was able to break through with a meeting with Coach Wilkins.

Rose Lavelle, in addition to playing for the Badgers soccer team, is an active member of the university’s community service programs. Rose Lavelle has been involved in Wish Upon a Badger Experience (women's soccer) and Thank-A-Thon (youth soccer clinics). She is now a brand ambassador to the premium light beer FLIGHT By Yuengling.

She is a vital member of the U.S. Women's National Team

Rose Lavelle hails from Cincinnati, Ohio. At 15 years of age, she was a key player in the U.S. Women's National Team. She was recently in Czech Republic for the SheBelieves Cup. Even though the USWNT was victorious in the game, they still outshot their opponents 18-6. Rose Lavelle was named Budweiser Woman of the Match.

Lavelle suffered an injury during a friendly match with Australia in June 2017. She suffered a hamstring injury, but she returned to the USWNT for the final game. She displayed a lot creativity throughout the tournament. Her coaches and teammates hailed her as a breakout star.

Lavelle has been to the World Cup for the United States. She made her World Cup debut with Thailand, but she did not play against Chile. She was later back against Sweden, and she helped the United States to press its attacks.
