Rose Lavelle from Cincinnati is a soccer player. She started playing soccer at age five in the YMCA's coed youth leagues. She didn't celebrate or smile when she scored her first goal. Instead, she kept her cool and continued playing. She later went on to play for several local soccer clubs, including Cincinnati United Premier Soccer Club. She also played college soccer for the University of Wisconsin.
Lavelle grew to be a Cincinnatian and attended Mount Notre Dame High School. Later she received a scholarship from the University of Wisconsin. She now plays for the Washington Spirit of the NWSL. Lavelle is a former representative of the United States women’s National Team at both the youth and senior levels. She was named the Big Ten's top Midfielder in November 2015. NSCAA later awarded her the honor of first-team All-American. Lavelle played in the USL W-League for both the Dayton Dutch Lions and Seattle Sounders Women's teams in 2014. Lavelle joined Washington Spirit after graduating college. Lavelle returned to Dayton in time for the 2016 Women's Premier Soccer League season.
